INTRODUCTIONS

 

Mr. Adams introduced and welcomed Representative Todd Staples, Messrs. Craig Pedersen, Tommy Knowles and Jack Hunt, representatives from the Texas Water Development Board, Judge Sue Kennedy from Nacogdoches County and the other distinguished guests attending the special joint water planning group meeting of Regions H and I.

 

 

PRESENTATION BY REGION H CONSULTANTS

 

Mr. Jeff Taylor gave a presentation on water demand and water management strategies for Region H.

 

 

PRESENTATION BY REGION I CONSULTANTS

 

Mr. Gary Graham gave a presentation on the water demand and management strategies for Region I.

 


 

GENERAL DISCUSSION

 

Mr. Pedersen, representing the Texas Water Development Board, thanked the members of the Water Planning Groups of Regions H and I for the job they are doing and, the hours they are contributing to the process.

 

The joint water planning members of Region H and I discussed many topics such as reservoirs, groundwater, surface water, groundwater transfer, bays and estuary protection and desalinization.

 

It was also stated that there were only 18 weeks left before the reports were to be finalized and sent to the Texas Water Development Board for review.

 

Mr. Adams invited the planning groups’ members and their consultants to stay for lunch.
